No MIDI yet? Hear the demo

Choose Play demo on first launch to hear the original Morning Cascade study. You can start without a music file or granting file access first.

Choose Set up Cascade to pick a theme, frosted effects and a default player view, then add your music. You can set things up later and reopen the guide from Settings → Getting started.

Add your own music

Cascade supports .mid, .midi and .kar. Tap + in the library to choose files or a whole folder. Android also offers Scan device.

Before an Android device scan, you can filter by filename keywords, excluded folders and minimum size. Filters apply to device scanning. If scanning misses a file, choose it or authorize its folder directly.

Keep added files available. If playback stops working after a file move or permission change, choose the file or folder again. Download cloud files before you go offline.

Organize a large collection

Browse Songs, Favorites, Playlists and Folders. Search by filename, change the sort order, and use a song’s menu to add it to favorites or a playlist.

Group music by creator, style or mood. Drag tracks into playlist order, then play in sequence, shuffle or repeat. Deleting a playlist keeps the original files.

Waterfall and playback controls

Tap the mini player to expand it, then switch between Artwork, Waterfall and Lyrics. The waterfall spans all 128 MIDI pitches, with notes falling from top to bottom. Pause holds the picture; resume lets it flow again.

Phone landscape uses a view menu, with play, skip, repeat mode and queue together in one row. Tablets offer a split layout for the player and a list.

Adjust playback speed, seek or open the queue from the player. Seeking, stopping or changing tracks resets the waterfall picture. Lyrics appear when the file contains compatible lyric content.

Choose your sound and appearance

Settings → SoundFonts offers the built-in sound and imports for your own SF2 / SF3 SoundFonts. Hear the same MIDI with a different voice.

Settings → Theme provides light, dark and system options. Switch frosted effects on or off whenever you like. Language, appearance and player view choices save automatically.

Playback help

Does a very large file need time to open?

Large files may take time to get ready before playback starts. Let loading finish; the wait depends on the file and device.

No sound or interrupted playback?

Check media volume and the output device. Try the demo with the built-in SoundFont first. For complex files, try a larger Playback Buffer in Settings → Audio Lab.

Scanning does not find a file?

Check its extension, file access and filters. You can also choose the file or its folder directly.

Why is the lyrics view empty?

Some MIDI files have no lyrics. Try a MIDI / KAR file with embedded lyrics; Cascade does not search online for them.

Do I need an account or internet access?

Core playback needs no account. With your MIDI and sound files available on the device, you can listen offline.
